Brazil's primary aluminum output fell 5 percent in January to 128,600 tonnes compared with 135,400 tonnes produced in the same month of 2009, the Brazilian Aluminum Association (ABAL) said on Thursday.
For the month of December 2009, production was 7 percent lower than the same month of 2008, falling to 128,600 tonnes.
Brazil is the world's sixth biggest aluminum producer.
